Setting a Course to Mandatory
Who is this article for?Users responsible for managing Courses.
Course Builder access and Client Administratorpermissions are required.
To ensure all users complete an assigned Course, you can now make its completion mandatory in Course Builder. This article shows you how to toggle this setting on and off.
1. Toggling Mandatory setting
To set the Course as mandatory:
- Open Course Builder.
- Click the List icon to view all Courses.
Alternatively, click the Cards icon and resize using the slider. - Find the Course you need to make mandatory.
- Tick the Mandatory box.
This will display a dropdown next to it. - Choose who the Course needs to be mandatory for.
By default, it's set to All users. - If you select Groups, another dropdown will appear.
- Choose the Group the Course will be mandatory for.
You can choose more than one Group from this dropdown.
If you are not seeing the right Group, make sure the Use this Group In CourseBuilder when assigning Mandatory Courses to users is enabled in their Group Details.
You can also set the Course as mandatory from the Course Management screen.
To set the Course back to optional, untick the box on either screen.
